Dr. Namukale Chintu

Managing Director, Frontier Markets Advisory

Dr. Namukale Chintu is Managing Director at Frontier Market Consultants, a boutique advisory firm focused on African Frontier market investors, including pension funds, private clients, and corporate investors.

She is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Invesco Asset Management Ltd (FCA regulated), that is part of the Invesco Ltd group with combined assets under management of USD 1.7 trillion.

In her corporate career spanning nearly 20 years, Dr. Chintu was a Senior Banker at EFG Private Bank and prior to that, at UBS Wealth Management; responsible for Private Client coverage in Africa and Central and Eastern European.

Before that, she was Head of Global Proprietary Capital investing at UBS Asset Management. Prior to UBS, she was Co-Head of Africa at Syntaxis Capital and before the 2008 financial crisis, held capital market roles at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.

She also holds two MScs in Financial Economics and Management Research from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and a BA in Economics from the University of Zambia as a Bank of Zambia Scholar. 

Bafedile Mafologele

Chief Executive Officer at Sampada Private Equity

Bafedile is Founder of $1bn Sampada Private Equity, UmThombo Wealth Management and owner of Euphoria Golf & Lifestyle Estate – South Africa’s first black owned Golf Estate.

Bafedile joined Ernst & Young as an articled clerk and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined Chartis Insurance (previously AIG SA), a subsidiary of the US listed AIG Inc, as chief accounting officer responsible for financial reporting and liaison with regulators, including the Financial Services Board (FSB) and the South African Reserve Bank.

He later joined Mvunonala Holdings in 2010 as Group Chief Operating Officer responsible for the operations of the Mvunonala Group. Bafedile was the managing executive of Mvunonala Asset Managers which was established in 2011 under the group’s umbrella. He departed in April 2014 by which time he had assisted in growing assets to R2.5 billion. He was part of the team that assisted Bophelo Benefit Services, a subsidiary of Mvunonala, which won the coveted Imbasa Yegolide Principal Officers Association Award for best trust and beneficiary administrator of the year in 2013.

In 2014 Bafedile joined Novare Actuaries and Consultants as director and head of fund consulting. Novare Actuaries and Consultants advise on assets over R220 billion. Bafedile also served as the Managing Director of Novare Investments. A boutique investment management firm focusing on managing offshore assets, multi-management and funds of hedge funds.

Claire Machin

Group Director, Private Wealth, Suntera Global

Claire started out in the trust and corporate services industry over 30 years ago prior to joining Suntera in 2010. Claire is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and was appointed to the board of Suntera Jersey in January 2017 and in September 2019, Claire was appointed as a Group Director of Suntera Global.  She also won the Citywealth Trustee of the Year award for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man in 2019 and silver in the 2022 Citywealth Powerwomen Awards in the ‘Woman of the Year – Leadership – Financial Organisation (CEO/Board Member)’ category and she won the Citywealth Editor’s Choice Award in 2024.

Rashmi Sharma

Ms Rashmi Sharma is a shareholder and CEO of Jewel of Africa LTD. She has a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Witwatersrand. She later
obtained an MBA from the University of Lincoln. Following her successful completion of courses
in Jewel Identification, Diamond Grading, Jewel Valuation, Coloured and Diamond Stone Essentials
and a diploma in Gemology, she has been admitted as a Fellow of the Gemological Association

Widely travelled, a wild-life and adventure sport enthusiast, Coach and Training & Development Consultant, Professor Ayaz Shafi has over 3 decades of experience in academia and industry. He is the author of “A New Approach to Motivation – Four Drive Model” (Taylor & Francis, International Journal for Human Behaviour in Social Environment). He is an Associate Professor at United world School of Business – Kolkata and a visiting faculty at University of Professional Studies, Accra (Ghana). Among other leading institutions in Africa and India, he has been a Guest Lecturer at University of the West of England (Bristol, U.K.) Ayaz is a certified Chally and DISC Assessor with wide ranging experience as an Assessor. He has been involved in the T&D and Change Management process at Standard in Chartered Bank in Zambia, Ghana, Botswana, Nigeria and Sierra Leonne. David Burton is a Property Consultant specialising in Investment, Asset and Development Management and Corporate Real Estate. He has 30 years’ experience in the property industry in the UK and in Africa and is the founding partner of Property Lynx, a niche consultancy that capitalises on investment and development opportunities in Africa and the UK. Mr. Matthew Nash spent over 20 years working for top tier Private Banks, including HSBC and Standard Chartered, advising High Net Worth families and actively involved in investment advice, foreign exchange, cross border investment, property lending and development, trusts and offshore structures. He also worked closely with the corporate and investment banks at both institutions on corporate transactions originated from the Private Bank. He has spent the last 4 years working at a Nigerian based corporate advisory firm working on corporate transactions from across the sub-Saharan African region. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Services and Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
